I have been reflecting on what it means to be community. As I contemplate what it means to be in community with others I found my mind drifting to thoughts on the television show “Community.” The show is a campy sit-com about students (and some administration and faculty) at a community college and the name of the show is likely a play on the setting of a community college; however, there is a hidden meaning one can extrapolate from the show. That hidden meaning being how a diverse group of people can come together and form a community together. In thinking about this show I thought about how in some ways it in some ways parallels us within Sacred Well Congregation International. We too form a diverse group of people coming together and being in community with one another.
We are a diverse group of people. While there are some principles that each of us hold sacred there is a lot of room within Sacred Well Congregation for spiritual and cultural diversity. We come together and form community both locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
The purpose of this blog is to share information on various topics that will hopefully be of interest to some of our members; however, another purpose of this blog is to build and foster community.
How do you build community? And how can you help to build community within the Sacred Well Congregation?
